This tour will explore the historic district’s streets and alleys of Troy as we depict the story of the development of the city and the impact the built environment had on the growth of Troy and the Capital Region.

This walking tour will highlight sights associated with the African American community in the first half of the 19th century. Featured are sites associated with the Troy Female African Benevolent Society, the many contributions of the Baltimore family and the famous rescue of the freedom seeker Charles Nalle.
